This park is a perfect place for a short easy hike at a typically quiet and less populated State Park. It was a bit rainy and cloudy on this trip, but Emma and I had a great time walking around in nature, enjoying the sights and sounds of a fresh spring day. Others report that this park has great views of the Olympic mountains, but the clouds today obscured the views so only the nearby terrain was visible. According to a local who has lived in the area for many decades, some of the walking trails at the park are former cattle roads. This is evident with some of the trails being wide and easy to walk on without brushing against overhanging vegetation. However, other trails involve narrow winding tracks through young forest trees and dense fern groundcover.
