Trip Date: May 16th and May 17th, 2021
This was a our first overnight camping trip of 2021, exploring the mountains north of Cle Elum Lake. We camped in this area last year and have been waiting to return all winter. Snow levels in the Wenatchee National Forest were around 3500 ft. on our trip this weekend, so many of the gravel forest roads are still snowed in, however, we found a great dry place to setup our dispersed campsite for a night in the woods.
Hamburgers were on the menu for dinner tonight, and Danny got a chance to utilize his new cast iron griddle to cook out in the woods. There was an excellent viewpoint adjacent to the campsite, making for some great photo opportunities.
