Went for a drive out to Cle Elum Lake with Mom on a beautiful Saturday. The Lake is located on the East Side of the Cascade Mountains, north of I-90 near the town of Cle Elum, Washington. The drive to the lake took us through the small town of Roslyn, Washington in Kittitas County. Roslyn is famous as the filming location for the 1990s comedy-drama television series Northern Exposure, about a fictional small town in Alaska. We briefly took a few photos in front of the mural painting on the side of the Roslyn Cafe, “An Oasis”.
We continued north past the lake, going up the Cle Elum River towards the Salmon La Sac Campground. A very enjoyable lunch spot was found river side near the Historic Depot in the Salmon La Sac area where we enjoyed some sandwiches and watched the river flow by. Views of snow topped peaks were visible along with abundant blue skies and a forest full of evergreen trees. It was a great day out in the woods with Mom.
