Alder Lake is located a few miles south of Eatonville, Washington, to the west of Mount Rainier National Park. On the east end of the lake is the unique town of Elbe, Washington, features numerous old train cars converted into a restaurant and hotel. Renting a caboose hotel room for the night would be a quirky experience. If you get lucky, you might even see the steam train operated by the Mount Rainier Railroad.

I captured footage of Alder Lake from a few different viewpoints today, including from the east end near Elbe and on the west end, from the Alder Lake Park. The park is operated by the Tacoma Power company as a public park, featuring a day use area with numerous picnic tables, a swimming beach, and bathrooms with rinse off showers.
